I dropped everything and called my mother. I continuously searched for solutions for them, until one day, AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet finally said it was "AVAILABLE AT YOUR ADDRESS". They used this service from around 2003-2015. it clocked in at a whopping 1 Mbps download and like 100 Kbps upload. My parents house only ever had Satellite internet. Thank you for your time! ATT guy didn't give us a timeline for when they plan on removing our DSL completely in our area, and I would like to plan ahead. I assume you can also game on the Fixed Wireless NO? Does the Fixed service have an option to continue to use the Orbi?Īlthough, no great our son does game on our DSL.
We actually have a Orbi connected to our DSL equipment that ATT supplied.
I know I would have to return the equipment within 21 days. Does the no term mean no contract? Just curious. Does the Fixed Wireless have a no contract option? I did read the website, and it said 'no term no bundle req’d' on there. I was pushed back to Mid 2022 recently - no doubt due to chip shortage. I was planning on getting Starlink if they ever decide to grace us with any service in our area. Our Property is higher than most in this area too. We basically can see the tower blinking from our back porch. The Service guy opened his phone up, and told us because we are so close to the tower? We should have pretty decent speeds. Sounds like ATT is going to remove that, and I need to figure something out for us. We live in a rural area, and some of us in our subdivision - I know of 3 of us still have our DSL. We currently have ATT DSL, but a service guy came today and told us that they plan on shutting it down sometime next year.
